The Sinarades village located 13 km from the town of Corfu, above the beautiful beach of Agios Gordios. The village was built on such a point to protect it from pirate attacks.

The village Sinarades built in Byzantine times, but soon abandoned to occupied again in 1669 by refugees who fled from Crete.In past years the village Sinarades was known as Axinarades, because the villagers were mainly farmers.

In the village there are 12 churches with Saint Nicholas and Saint Spyridon is the most important.

The Sinarades also feature Folklore Museum, their own Philharmonic orchestra and Cultural Centre which organizes many activities and festivals, and seminars Art.
