It is one of a kind Museum, in Greece. Hosts 11,000 objects from donations of private collections, derived mainly from the far East and the wider Indian area (China, Korea, Japan, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Tibet, Indochina). From the exhibits stands out the Chinese bronze vessels from early devotional (1200-1027 BC) and the collection of figurines (6th-9th century), Chinese porcelains from the 14th to the 19th century, and the painted cylinders (12th – 18th c.), the Japanese origin weapons and armor Samurai sections (16th-18th centuries), the theatre "masks" (1338-mountain), the wooden objects of lacquer as well as unique prints on fabric and paper (17th – 19th century). Of particular interest is the unique Greek-Buddhist collection of sculptures from the Gandara of Pakistan, dating from the 1st to the 5th century a.d. and reflects the Hellenistic influence, legacy of Alexander's presence in the region.

The museum works in the Palace of Sts. Michael and George.
